Who is responsible

This policy explains which personal data we collect on this website, in the student portal and in the online classroom, why, who else receives it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow Cameroon’s Law No. 2024/017 of 23 December 2024 on the protection of personal data, and we treat visitors from the European Union according to the same principles as the GDPR.

What we collect, and why

• Forms on the website (registration, contact, newsletter, review): your name, email, WhatsApp number, the course, level and schedule you choose, and your message. We use them to answer you, to confirm your place and to send what you asked for. Reviews show the name you give, your role and your text on the website, only after we approve them.
• Your student account: name, email, WhatsApp number, level, study mode, group, and if you add them, your goal, exam date, gender and profile picture. We use them to run your course and to show the right classes and exercises.
• Practice and progress: the scores of your exercises (part of the exam, topic, correct answers), your unit progress, mock exam results and level history. Teachers use them to follow your progress and to decide when you move up a level.
• The Exam Coach: what you type or say to the Exam Coach is sent to our automatic evaluation service (OpenAI) to correct your answer. The conversation itself is kept only in your browser while it is open; we store the scores and a count of messages (to keep the daily limit).
• Live classes: when you join and leave a class (attendance), and the class chat while the class runs. Your microphone and camera are only used when the teacher allows them and you switch them on; sound and video go live to the class and are not recorded by the platform. If a teacher records a class, it is announced at the start.
• Feedback after a class: your stars, what got in the way, your comment, and your device type (browser, system, screen width, network type), to find and fix problems in the classroom.
• Messages with the center: what you and the team write in the portal’s Messages section.
• Payments: your payment reference, the amount and whether it was paid. Mobile Money and card payments are handled by the payment provider; we never see your PIN or card number.
• Certificates: your name, the course and the period printed on a certificate.
• Security: your internet address is used for a short time to stop spam and abuse of the forms; it is not stored with your details.

Who else receives data

We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising or tracking. These services handle data for us, only for the purpose given:

• Vercel (USA): hosts the website.
• Supabase: database and student accounts (login).
• OpenAI (USA): automatic evaluation for the Exam Coach, and translation of our news posts.
• LiveKit: carries the sound and video of live classes.
• Cloudflare: stores the course materials of the library.
• MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money, Flutterwave: payments, when you pay.
• WhatsApp (Meta): only when you write to us there or we confirm your registration there.

Data sent abroad

Some of these services keep data outside Cameroon (for example in the European Union or the USA). We only use providers that protect data under contract and with security measures.

How long we keep it

• Student accounts and progress: while you study with us, then up to 3 years after your last course (so you can come back, and to issue certificates).
• Registrations and contact messages without an account: up to 2 years.
• Payment records: as long as accounting law requires.
• Newsletter: until you ask us to remove you. Reviews: until you ask us to remove them.
• Class feedback: up to 2 years.

What is stored in your browser

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores only what it needs to work: your login session, your language, your Exam Coach settings and open exercise, the board of an open class (teachers), and course documents you opened (so they open faster next time). You can delete them in your browser settings at any time.

Children

Students under 18 need the agreement of a parent or guardian to register. A parent can ask us at any time what we store about their child.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, or stop using it for a purpose (for example the newsletter). You can withdraw a consent you gave. Changes

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. Important changes are announced in the student portal.
